An itinerary for 5 days Uganda Gorilla tracking & wildlife safari

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and transfer to Queen Elizabeth

You will be picked up Biiso Africa Safaris’ driver / guide from Kigali Airport or Hotel to start your journey to Uganda side that is Queen Elizabeth National Park, taking about 6 hours drive through Kabale with its rolling hills, Bunyaruguru popularly known for its crater lakes. Enjoy a stunning view of the rift valley as you are approaching the National Park. Have a short relaxation at the lodge before heading to Kasenyi Plains for an evening game drive. On your game drive, you will sport several animals including antelopes, Cape buffaloes, African Elephants, and if lucky big cats like lions and leopards. Return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

Again head back to Kasenyi for another morning game drive to try to find what could have been missed the previous day. Have Lunch at the lodge and after you will head to the jetty along kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. great opportunity to view animals like: hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and many other wildlife. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your breakfast, head to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park a home to almost half of the world’s most endangered Mountain gorillas. Gorilla tracking experience is a once in a lifetime adventure seeing them in their natural habitat is much rewarding. Arrive at booked lodge in time for relaxation, acclimatization and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking Bwindi forest National Park

Take your early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch ready, as Biiso Africa Safaris driver / guide will drive you to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla tracking. As Uganda Wildlife Authority  guide will take you through dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas and after that, transferred to the starting point of your gorilla trekking family. Gorilla trekking experience can be strenuous and a certain level of fitness is required. Lasting for 30 minutes to three quarters of the day so one needs to prepare for both.

Beside that, your guide will provide you information about trees, birds and other wildlife in the forest until you encounter gorilla family group. most importantly you will be allowed an hour of photography and observing them, as they go by their daily day activities and then trekking back to headquarters for your certificates. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
