1 Day Kampala City Tour.
Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, popularly known as the city spread over 10 hills but was originally built on seven hills just like Rome.
The name Kampala came out of a Kiganda saying, "Kasozi Kampala" meaning the hill for Antelopes. It is the central administrative centre of Uganda and a large commercial city for nearly all East and Central Africa. The population stands at 2 million people in the city and the outskirts.
Kampala consists of a good mix of people from all over the world and inevitably this has introduced new and exciting varieties of food to try.
Itinerary:
After breakfast, your first day, around Kampala city can include the following visits to: Uganda Museum to have an insight into the historical cultural heritage of Uganda, Nakasero market with fresh tropical fruits and all the produce of Uganda, Owino market the biggest in the city, Kasubi tombs(burial grounds of the former kings of Buganda.
After lunch at a continental or traditional Uganda style restaurant .We shall make a visit to Makerere University, the oldest institution of higher learning in east and central Africa. We shall visit Worship places of Namirembe and Rubaga cathedrals, and Kibuli mosque in a bid of also enjoying the spectacular clear views of Kampala City and finally the crafts village, before returning to the hotel.
