MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Uganda's largest national park (3840 sq.km) is located in the North Western part of Uganda, 90kms from Masindi. The park derives its name from the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the world's longest river passes through a narrow gap in the Rift Valley escarpment to fall 43m below. This park supports dense populations of lion, elephant, buffalo, Uganda Kob, Rothschild’s giraffe and Patas monkey.
A school of hippos and birds can be observed from the launch trips along the Nile below the magnificent waterfalls for which the park is named. The Park can be accessed by road via Masindi town and Kichumbanyobo gate and by air.
