Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi 900metres deep is the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika, and comprises of 29 islands. The name “Bunyonyi” in local language means 'the place of little birds'. The lake is 1962 m above sea level and surrounded by several cultivations of food crops for the local habitants. It is a great place to visit and, relax, by virtue of its amazing spectacular scenery.
The lake is safe enough for swimming .Visitors can hire boats here and take a boat out onto the lake for an hour or two as well - There are several species of birds which can be seen. Visits to the local communities and pygmy villages can be arranged to spice up your visit.
