Bwindi Impenetrable National Park


The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda in East Africa. The park is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable forest which shares a boarder with the Democratic republic of Congo next to the Virunga National Park.

Its size is 331 square kilometers of jungle forests and contains montane and lowland forest and is accessible only on foot. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a world designated world heritage site.

The park is a host to  half of the world's population of mountain gorillas, 120 species of mammals, over 200 species of butterflies, 7 diurnal primates, about 30 elephants and 360 species of birds,27 species of frogs,chameleons,geckos,324 tree species including vines, shrubs and 100 species of ferns of which 10 don't occur elsewhere in Uganda.

The park lies at an altitude Range of 1160 meters to 2607 meters above sea level, with an annual average temperature Range being 7-20 degrees Celsius.
