GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI


Gorilla trekking is a major tourist attraction in Bwindi with four gorilla groups. The 4 groups available include Nkuringo group comprising of 19 gorillas and 2 silver backs , Rushegura group comprising of 10 gorillas and 1 silverback, Habinyanja group, comprising of 18 gorillas and 1 silverback, and Mubare group, comprising of 10 gorillas. Every day a maximum of 8 visitors per group are allowed to visit the gorillas and the earliest time for departure is 8.00am. Visitors are allowed to spend at least 1 hour with the gorillas.

Nature Walks
The park has 4 hiking trails where you have an opportunity to view primates,reptiles, butterflies, birds and trees. namely the Munyaga river trail, Waterfall trail, Rushura trail and Muzabajiro trail.

Village Walks
The walk takes you to several interesting sites such as rural homesteads, brewing local beer from bananas, visit to medicinal healer, farming, and learning about the cultural practices of the local people the Bakiga and Batwa people
