Bwindi Accommodation

1. Bwindi Community camp(Low budget accommodation)
This community camp was set up in 1993 to enable the local community to benefit from gorilla tourism in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

The rest camp is run by community members and all profits are shared with the local community through assistance in funding local schools and clinics. There is an associated women's group, Bwindi Progressive Women's Group, which makes handicrafts and puts on performances of local music and dance for visitors.

Accommodation consists of clean well maintained bandas. Each has solar electric lighting. There is a picnic banda in which to sit, socialize, relax and eat; as well as a reception building, which houses a bar and dining room. A variety of foods are available, as well as cold beers and sodas.

2. Mantana - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Tented Camp(Mid-range accommodation
The camp is situated on the periphery of the Impenetrable Forest approximately 4kms from the National park headquarters. The camp is signposted on the left side. Accommodation is full-board in seven fully furnished tents comprising of veranda twin bedroom, dressing area and an en-suite shower and toilet

3. Volcanoes tented camp(High end accommodation

The safari lodge has a spectacular location facing the magnificent evergreen tropical forest enabling you to hear sounds of chimpanzees, birds and Gorillas.
All facilities were designed to blend with the environment and are nature friendly.

Solar electricity is used for power generation. Accommodation includes 8 wooden thatched bandas with dining and relaxation areas set amidst diversity of forest life. The eco-lodge is one of Uganda's best holiday safari lodges.

4. Buhoma Homestead

The homestead is located just after the park’s main gate, near the headquarters at Buhoma.
Accommodation is offered in 6 twin cottages, each with en suite bathroom, toilet and private verandahs.
You can enjoy a meal or drink right there! As you enjoy scenic viewing of the tropical forest.
For budget travelllers, 3 more twin rooms are available sharing bathroom facilities.

The safari lodge is located in an environment that gets cooler in the evenings; for your comfort, a camp fire is set ablaze in the common area, providing a cozy setting for guests to interact.

The bar serves local beer, Ugandan gin, wines and soft drinks like sodas, mineral water.
A variety of local and international dishes are served to suit your needs during your stay at the safari lodge.

5. Gorilla Forest camp (High end accommodation)

Gorilla Forest Camp
The permanent tented camp is set amidst a rainforest of the mountainside in the middle of Bwindi forest impenetrable national park. The location of the camp makes it an ideal base for Gorilla tracking, bird watching excursions and primate viewing within the park.

Accommodation at the Gorilla forest camp is offered in 8 double tents raised on wood platforms with hot and cold running water, basin, toilet and a bath tab facing the forest.
The permanent tents also have a private veranda where guests can view the fauna of the park, birds and butterflies.



The camp has a bar and dinning cottage facing the rainforest. At night, a traditional African campfire is lit from where a lecture might be given by a visiting primatologist. The Gorilla forest camp can be accessed by air, landing is at Kayonza airstrip located 25km (40minutes) from the forest camp.
This airstrip is for small air crafts of 6 passengers, however, for larger aircrafts and groups, will use the Ishasha airstrip located 65km (2hrs and 30 minutes) away from the camp; and then connect using rough tarmac roads.

6. The Gorilla Resort

This new resort has a breath-taking view of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest located at Buhoma - Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla National Park on a Mountain side.The camp has been constructed and built to the highest standards with use of local materials and craftsmen.

The resort includes a Restaurant, Bar, Suspended deck that features a campfire overlooking the Tropical Rain Forest, Lounge and Kitchen.

7. Kitandara Bwindi Camp

The campsite established facility just outside Bwindi forest national park, offers accommodation in basic self contained standing tents.
The charges for accommodation are pocket-friendly to cater for budget travelers
